YapCuts transcribes your clip, then marks three kinds of cuts: silence longer than a beat, filler words like um and uh, and false starts where you said the same sentence twice. Claude reads the transcript to spot the retakes, so it knows which version you meant.

Questions people ask
What kind of videos is YapCuts for?
Talking head clips: one person, speaking to camera. Tutorials, updates, course videos, the video you record in the car. It is built for that and not for multi-camera edits or b-roll.
What does it actually cut?
Silences longer than your threshold, filler words, and retakes where you restarted a sentence. Every cut is listed and switchable, and you can add or trim your own on the timeline.
Can I edit the words in the transcript?
You can fix the spelling of any caption word, hide it, emphasise it or add a line break. YapCuts does not let you rewrite what you said; the captions always match the audio.
Does it crop my video to vertical?
No. YapCuts keeps the aspect ratio you shot in. If you record vertical, you get vertical back.
How are the captions rendered?
The preview and the final render use the same caption engine, so what you see in the editor is what comes out of the export.
What happens after I choose a video?
Create your account, then choose a paid plan to unlock the editor. Your selected video stays in this browser while you sign up. Once your plan is active, you can upload it and start editing.
What counts as a minute?
The length of the footage you upload. A 6-minute take uses 6 minutes, however many times you re-render it.
Is there a mobile app?
YapCuts runs in the browser today. Everything it does lives behind an API, and a mobile app on the same backend is planned.
